Hello again! It has been a long time since I posted here. Hopefully this board is still active.

I am trying to play ToOD again and I get a strange error.

The campaign starts normally and I cane move around and actually play the game. However, when I try to save the game, it will freeze up and say:

EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Info: The thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate access.

Any idea what this means?

Hi Cucci, long time no see,
i think its the anti-virus program that must exempt SF.exe before play

I tried to add the exe file to exclusions and also turned off the antivirus all together. I still can't save any game at all.

You can try these things:

1. update vc++ redistributables 2005, 2008, 2010 (also 64bit if you are using 64bit windows)
2. update microsoft .net framework (4 version has all earlier versions included)
3. update directx
4. set different game resolution
5. try to clean save and temp folders of spellforce game
6. try open game with administrator rights

Thanks for your help, it is working now.

I am also using the maps you made again. So much more fun with all the merchants you put on the 1st map. :)

One thing, i think i gave TOoD a bit too much experience,
you may want to skip Mulandir if you camp, i already deleted a Ferryman there on my own map,
and there is in either case no less than 3 optional Ferryman in the very last map,
if you ended up below lv 30

Thats ok, it should not be a problem. Ever since I started using your maps I had no reason to camp at all. The game is much more fun that way to be honest.

On a side note, I should probably know the answer to this already. What you use Ranged weapons like bows/xbow, your base dmg increases based off STR and not DEX. Is that correct?

Yes, base dmg is not related to dexterity for any weapon.
I am dead certain i responded to you on this topic a year ago
with the damage output equation by @Kubi

At first there is a so called weapon factor (WF) for every level:

The formula according to my infos is:
WF*damage of the weapon*strength of your avatar/(Armorclass/100+1)*Modificator

For every weapon class there is an additional modificator. For example you cant make the full damage on a skeleton with arrows, daggers and swords.
